Abstract

The research was carried out at Hacienda La Diligencia, in the Pedernales Canton, in the province of Manabí, the effect of two protocols on superovulation in cows of the Guzerat breed was compared, a total of sixteen experimental units were used (sixteen bovine females of guzerat race) to which they superovulated each one, becoming these in the repetitions (eight); The females were standardized in body condition, health status and had to be multiparous; Two protocols were carried out, the first is based on Cebiotropin B, which was applied during the established protocol; Once a day for four consecutive days; and the second protocol was Folltropin V, which was applied every 12 hours for four days: Each repetition was carried out with intervals of 15 days, subsequently, the females were given a two-week rest, and a new cycle was started again. It was determined that Folltropin produces the greatest number of total embryos, with 44 embryos in this trial, unlike Cebiotropin, which generated 20 embryos, which represents 45% of what Folltropin produced, showing in the t test (p<0 .05) that there is a significant difference. It is concluded that; folltropin presented greater effectiveness in terms of embryo production, a better cost/benefit ratio and a higher percentage of quality in grade 1 embryos; When using Folltropin within the superovulation protocols the result obtained was more than double compared to its competition, this being due in the first instance to the number of embryos produced.
