Abstract

The project "IP Video Surveillance System for the Security of Quinta Nápoles" aims to enhance the safety of this rural community by implementing a comprehensive and sustainable IP video surveillance system. This system seeks to ensure the protection of residents and their assets, providing peace of mind and prevention against criminal incidents. Quinta Nápoles faces a growing issue of insecurity, characterized by thefts, assaults, and other criminal acts, due to its isolated location and lack of adequate surveillance. This situation creates an atmosphere of fear among the inhabitants and affects the protection of essential goods such as livestock and crops, which are the foundation of their livelihood. To address this issue, a mixed research methodology was applied, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Direct observations, surveys of residents, and interviews with administrators were conducted, along with an analysis of security hotspots. These actions allowed for the collection of key information regarding the specific needs and vulnerabilities of the area. An extensive bibliographic research was carried out on various topics related to IP video surveillance. This research provided the necessary documentation to support each stage of the project, ensuring a well-founded and coherent approach. The report not only organized and supported the entire physical installation process of the system but also detailed the specifications of the research methods, the results obtained, and the technological resources needed for implementing the IP video surveillance system. Regarding the PPDIOO methodology (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, Optimize), it established a structured and systematic approach for the design, implementation, and operation of the video surveillance system in Quinta Nápoles. This methodology ensures proper planning, optimal configuration, and efficient system operation, addressing critical aspects such as real-time monitoring and continuous optimization to improve recording quali ty and the coverage of the monitored area. Upon completing the project, a fully operational video surveillance system was successfully implemented, ensuring coverage of the most critical areas of Quinta Nápoles, including entrances, exits, and high-risk zones. This system allows for real-time monitoring and secure storage of recordings, providing residents with an effective tool to prevent and respond to criminal incidents.
