Abstract

This project describes the design and construction of a didactic module for training in domestic water distribution installations, aimed at students of the Technology in Electromechanics (TSE) program at the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University (ULEAM) El Carmen Extension. The main objective of the module is to provide students with practical and simulated experience in the installation of potable water distribution systems in homes, allowing them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to perform successfully in the labor market. The design of the didactic module was based on an exhaustive analysis of the curricular requirements of the TSE program, as well as the specific needs of the labor market in the area of potable water installations, considering the Ecuadorian Construction Standard NEC-11 Chapter 16 "Hydrosanitary Standard NHE Water"; The incorporation of elements, equipment and real materials used in a Domestic Distribution network was considered, allowing a comprehensive and contextualized learning experience. The didactic module was built in an appropriate physical space within the ULEAM facilities, the system was designed with a simulated potable water distribution in the module, including pipes, valves, faucets, storage tank and other essential components. The didactic module has been successfully implemented in the teaching-learning process of the TSE program. Students demonstrated a high level of satisfaction with the module, valuing the practical and simulated experience that allows them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for their professional future.
