Abstract

Business ethics is a set of values, norms, and principles that are manifested in the organizational culture of a company, promoting social cohesion and facilitating the adaptation of rights and common values, thereby improving decision-making and transparency in operations with corporate social responsibility. Sustainable development is a business approach and strategy that considers the social and environmental impact of all behaviors of a company, benefiting humanity and, of course, protecting the natural resources of ecosystems. The objective focused on determining how business ethics impacts the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Chone canton. The methodology used was based on synthesis analysis, deductive and inductive methods, and explanatory, utilizing bibliographic, qualitative, quantitative, and field research types, employing the survey technique.
