Análisis comparativo en la gestión turística de los cantones Sucre, Jama, San Vicente y Pedernales, pertenecientes a la zona norte de la provincia de Manabí.

Abstract

The current research consists of carrying out a comparative analysis about the tourist management of the Sucre, Jama, San Vicente and Pedernales cantons, belonging to the northern part of the Manabí province. Indeed, tourism management allows these activities to be carried out in a controlled manner, trying not to produce adverse effects on the environment or local communities. In order to make a correct diagnosis, the survey questionnaire is drawn up, which is made up of a series of questions, indicators are used and the Likert scale (high-medium-low) is used as a rating variable. . This instrument is applied to each representative of the aforementioned cantons, in order to collect their opinions on tourism management in the different destinations. The results regarding the sociocultural criteria show that the Jama and San Vicente cantons are in better conditions. For their part, the cantons Sucre and Pedernales have weaknesses. With regard to economics, there is regularity in almost all the cantons, except Pedernales. Regarding the environment, positive aspects are observed in Sucre and San Vicente, unlike Jama and Pedernales, in the latter there are shortcomings. In view of improving the current situation, various strategies are proposed, such as the approval of an ordinance within each municipality, optimizing tourism promotion, zoning the beaches, training tourism stakeholders, among others.
