Análisis de la sostenibilidad turística del cantón Manta, provincia de Manabí.

Abstract

This research consists of analyzing the tourism sustainability in the San Lorenzo and Santa Marianita parishes, belonging to the rural area of the Manta canton. Tourism sustainability as such is based on carrying out these activities in a controlled manner, seeking a social, economic and environmental balance. This provides improvements in the quality of the visitor's stay and considerably raises the living conditions of the local inhabitants. Regarding the methodology used in this project for the collection of information, the use of the interview questionnaire applied to a representative of each parish council is used. This instrument considers the dimensions of tourism planning, conservation and use of the environment and social sustainability, with their respective indicators, for a timely evaluation in these localities. The results show that in the San Lorenzo parish there are weaknesses around a low system for monitoring the impacts of tourism in the community, lack of signs and traffic lights, few job opportunities, among others. For its part, in the Santa Marianita parish, concerns are noted with reference to the calculation of the tourist arrival rate, non-existent bicycle rental points, few signs, few job opportunities, among others. In order to improve the current situation, it is proposed to locate signage, more job opportunities, take the respective control of tourists, create bicycle lanes, greater accessibility for people with disabilities, provide a specialized guidance service, reinvestment of capital in the communities and others.
