Proyecto de desarrollo turístico sostenible, hacia las comunidades del cantón el Carmen.

Abstract

Approximately 15 years ago, tourism in Ecuador began to differentiate itself from the rest of the activities that generated economy, due to the positive impacts that the exercise of this service brought with it. Tourism sustainability is one of the most important factors for the destination to begin to develop correctly and generate a great perception in the tourism community. The objective of this research was to analyze the tourism situation in the canton of El Carmen and its communities, in order to develop an action plan aimed at sustainable tourism development. The research was exploratory, so we proceeded to investigate several important elements in order to observe the problems that persist in the communities regarding tourism. The methods and techniques used were: analytical-synthetic, review of official documents, bibliographic review, discussion with representatives of the communities and questionnaire survey, where we proceeded to take a sample of 150 respondents who understand the tourism situation of the canton. The sequence of this research case was structured in three steps: Diagnosis of the quality of tourism offered (tourist plant, natural and cultural resources), identification of indicators and elaboration of the action plan proposal. Through the implementation of the strategies, the aim is to really develop tourism based on the sustainability that the communities offer, in order to attract attention and become a good national and international reference in tourism. The final results of this research can be used to solve current problems, developing tourism sustainably and increasing competitiveness with other destinations.
