La disfuncionalidad familiar y su incidencia en el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Particular Veinticuatro de Mayo en la ciudad de Manta, años 2024-2025.

Abstract

The present research entitled "Family Dysfunction and its Impact on Academic Performance in High School Students of the Private Educational Unit Veinticuatro de Mayo in the City of Manta, Years 2024 - 2025" has the general objective of determining the incidence of family dysfunctionality on the academic performance of high school students of the Private Educational Unit "Veinticuatro de Mayo" in the city of Manta, years 2024 - 2025. It was carried out in order to know how the family environment impacts the performance of students, given that the family is responsible for caring for children and providing support in the educational process. This study is of a quantitative exploratory nature, as an instrument the survey was applied to a sample of 186 high school students of the institution. The results indicate that the main cause of family dysfunction is poor communication (89.78%) and its greatest consequence is emotional problems (75.27%). This family dysfunction causes stress, anxiety, and demotivation to affect academic performance. The factors that most influence academic performance are motivation (73.12%) and family environment (56.99%). Furthermore, it was shown that the majority have good relationships with their peers and teachers. It is concluded that the family environment significantly influences students' emotional well-being and the educational context; however, it is not a determining factor in academic success.
