Abstract

Analysis of Jaramijó’s Tourist Attractions and Their Importance for Local Development This study examines the tourist attractions of Jaramijó, a coastal canton in Manabí Province, Ecuador, and their role in local development. It analyzes the area's main natural, cultural, and environmental resources to strengthen Jaramijó’s tourism sector as a key pillar for its growth. The document details the history of tourism worldwide, its evolution in Ecuador, and specifically in Jaramijó. Additionally, it highlights the importance of local development through tourism, as well as sustainability and responsible tourism practices. These aspects are crucial for ensuring that tourism benefits current generations while also preserving the natural and cultural resources that make each place a unique destination. The first chapter includes primary and secondary sources, such as bibliographies. Furthermore, the second chapter focuses on survey techniques, gathering insights from key figures in the tourism sector, visitors, residents, and other stakeholders essential for Jaramijó’s local development. The collected data will be used in a representative sample designed to capture tourists' perceptions of the current state of tourism. As a fundamental part of the research, these findings will be analyzed and processed statistically, providing a solid foundation to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the tourism industry. Ultimately, this data will offer recommendations and conclusions for the third chapter of the study.
