Determinación de la potencialidad del turismo rural de la parroquia Honorato Vásquez.

Abstract

The determination of rural tourism potential consists of identifying, evaluating and prioritizing the natural, cultural and social resources of a territory in order to establish its capacity to attract visitors and generate economic, social and environmental development, this allows to recognize the strengths, opportunities, limitations and existing threats, thus facilitating strategies that promote tourism as an alternative for local progress, in this same sense, the objective of this study is to determine the rural tourism potential of the Honorato Vázquez parish, identifying its tourist resources and promoting its sustainable development, for which the non-experimental type of research was used, with a descriptive scope and mixed approach, integrating a qualitative and quantitative analysis, applying the inductive method and using techniques such as direct observation and a survey directed at 361 people. Based on this, the results showed a strong community willingness to engage in tourism activities and a strong appreciation for their resources, perceiving tourism as a source of employment. However, structural limitations were also identified, such as a lack of connectivity, infrastructure deficiencies, and a limited supply of basic services. Therefore, it is concluded that rural tourism represents a viable opportunity to boost the local economy, provided that community participation and responsible use of the environment are integrated.
