Abstract

The present investigation is an analytical work that begins in the theoretical framework where the main characteristics of the study of the structure are addressed of cities over time, changes in infrastructure physics, the incidence of topography, the organization of cities, the types of land use and occupation, etc., which are a product of the constant intervention of various social actors. Subsequently, the study area is demarcated, with the objective of understanding better the process of urban expansion of Manta, where they have been addressed various growth dynamics and the possible evolution in the management of appropriate strategies and guidelines for an action model accelerated expansive and dispersed process of the city. Consecutively, the respective diagnosis is carried out to understand the phenomenon and its spatial and temporal patterns as the study of land uses, topographies, roads, public transport mobility, etc. As a result, the entire urban structure of the study area that has generated an irregular occupation of the land, in disordered schemes, causing connectivity problems and deficiency in its use within the urban context. The results obtained are represented graphically, for a better understanding in the territorial space and where finally the results They meet the objective of the thesis work by generating guidelines, strategies and recommendations for a future model of action in expansion areas of the city of Manta, framed by an important horizontal growth in recent years.
