Propuesta de seguridad turística de prevención y de atención integral permanente a los turistas que visitan la playa Barbasquillo de la ciudad de Manta.

Abstract

Barbasquillo Beach in Manta faces several challenges related to tourism security due to the risks and threats that affect both tourists and the development of the destination. Addressing this issue, the objective of this research was to design a tourism security model based on prevention and integral care for tourists visiting Barbasquillo Beach during 2024. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to gain a comprehensive view of tourist security in the area. With a descriptive and propositional scope, the study aimed to develop a security model that addresses risks and proposes integral solutions. Information was collected through three main techniques: direct observation of security conditions at the beach, surveys of tourists, and an interview with the Director of Tourism of the Manta Municipal GAD, Engineer Isidro Rodríguez. This methodological design provided empirical data that served as the foundation for a security model tailored to the specific needs of the beach. The results reveal that tourists face risks such as petty crimes and health issues, and there is concern about the lack of information on safety protocols and the limited presence of trained emergency personnel. While there are security measures in place, their effectiveness depends on factors such as staff training and coordination among key actors. The proposed security model, based on these findings, aims not only to protect tourists but also to involve the local community in creating a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring comprehensive and effective care.
