dc.description.abstract | Literary analysis is presented as a fundamental tool in learning because it allows students to delve deeper into texts, unravel hidden meanings, identify symbolism and recognize narrative structures. This process enriches the connection with the literary work, fostering critical thinking and personal reflection. By addressing diverse perspectives and contexts, students broaden their worldview and develop skills useful in different areas of life. In this context, the study proposes a literary analysis of Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat, focusing on symbolic elements such as the cat's influence on the development of violence, madness, and its contribution to the atmosphere of the work. The narrative and the narrator's voice are examined, considering how the first person affects the reader's perception of the protagonist's madness and guilt, as well as how the structure of the story generates tension and anticipation. In addition, the themes of guilt, self-destruction, and fate that characterize the work are explored. Literary analysis not only facilitates the understanding of literature, but also enriches communicative skills, promoting empathy and emotional understanding. By investigating the motivations and emotions of characters, this type of analysis becomes essential for personal and social development in an increasingly interconnected world. | es |
