Abstract

The valorization process involves the recovery of major heritage sites, updating exhibition spaces and their museographic needs, and preserving archives, libraries, and national cultural assets. Based on this premise, the objective of this research is to evaluate the valorization of the cultural heritage of the Museo Nuclear Corporación Ciudad Alfaro as a basis for proposing strategies to improve its role and operation. Despite the historical and cultural value of its heritage elements, strategies for their promotion, dissemination, and conservation have not been optimized, which has limited their cultural and tourism impact in the canton. The study follows a constructivist paradigm, aiming to understand reality through the interaction and interpretation of the thread within which the research is carried out. The qualitative-quantitative approach, with an exploratory-descriptive scope, is applied through instruments such as interviews with directors and cultural managers, as well as visitor surveys, a checklist, and photographic records. The results allow for the creation of strategies that prioritize improving promotion, accessibility, community engagement, internal management, and technological innovation, aligning actions with visitor expectations and institutional objectives. This becomes the basis for a participatory strategic plan that promotes the museum as a true center of living memory, accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for the local community and visitors.
