Uso de los emoticones para la interpretación de símbolos gráficos en la comunicación.

Abstract

The growing use of emoticons as graphic symbols in digital communication raises questions about its interpretation and regulations. This can lead to misunderstandings in the interpretation of the message or the communicative intention. For the exposed, it is pertinent to investigate these, their uses and the ways to regulate their use within the language. The general objective of this work is to analyze the use of emoticons for the interpretation of graphic symbols in communication and the perspectives of the Royal Spanish Academy. For this, a methodology was proposed mixed approach, descriptive type, with techniques such as student surveys and interviews teachers, and an expert on the problem; the sample being intentional of 85 students, 2 teachers from the third year of high school at the Unidad Educativa “General Eloy Alfaro” from the city of Montecristi.
