Análisis de la novela “Don Lutero” desde un enfoque sociopedagógico.

Abstract

The teacher, instead of an authorit y figure, should be a guide of wisdom and leadership within societ y. A local example was Lutero Santana, who presided over the Manabi provincial strike of the year nineteen sixt y-two, his name has almost fallen into oblivion. Therefore, this research work was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the methodology and the legacy of the Manabí teacher through “Don Lutero”, a novel written by Dumar Iglesias Mata. Based on the variables of the research, a set of interviews were conducted with a teacher of Language and Literature of the Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional “Juan Montalvo”, people close to the teacher Lutero Santana, and finally with Dumar Iglesias Mata himself. The results obtained from these interviews focus on the importance of the novel as a subject of study, the use of crit ical thinking among students and the humanitarian legacy that Lutero Santana has left in the history of Manabí and in t he next generat ions of teachers, adding also the structure, inspirat ions and didactic value of Iglesias Mata's novel. In conclusion, “Don Lutero” is the testimony of a person who used an educat ional method based on social pedagogy to strengthen the critical thinking of a people and that its inhabitants had the facilit y to reflect on their polit ical and social situation, and the opportunit y to base their claims on activism, wit h the aim of obtaining infrastructure works beneficial to the community.
